The alleged incident came to the fore after SC/ST commission directed police to book three accused policemen for the crime which took place in last week of September.

An FIR under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with an intent to cause harm), 343 (wrongful confinement for three or more days), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and other relevant sections of SC/ST Act (Prevention of atrocities) was lodged against sub-inspector Rajeev Kumar Gaur and constables Sheel Kumar and Babloo.

So, fearing action, he disappeared three months ago with the tractor. He is still untraceable,” the victim said in his written complaint. He added, “I was forcibly detained on September 27 last month.

A posse of policemen arrived at a field where I was working and bundled me in a police van and locked me up at the police station. I was brutally flogged using sticks. I was also sedated and continuously tortured in the lock up for three days,” he said. Later, Pramod met several senior police officials with his complaint, “but to no avail”. “Following which I approached SC/ST commission,” he said. According to Bulandshahr SSP Santosh Kumar Singh, “Following direction of SC/ST commission, an FIR has been registered against a SI and two constables. A probe will be done by a CO rank officer.”
